# Creating Workspaces

> Use the browser-first Add Workspace flow to connect a repo, generate local files, and begin watching the board.

The recommended path starts in the browser:

```bash theme={null}
npx --yes --registry=https://registry.npmjs.org conductor-oss@latest
```

On first run, Conductor opens Setup and takes you to **Add Workspace** when no projects exist yet.

## A healthy first workspace

Verify these before moving on:

* the repo path points at the repository root
* `CONDUCTOR.md` is being watched
* the chosen agent is visible in `PATH`
* the dashboard shows current project data, not stale config
