# Projects and Repositories

> Define project IDs, display names, repo roots, branch defaults, and runtime metadata cleanly.

Projects and repositories are the backbone of a clean multi-workspace setup.

## Project identity

A project ID should be stable and boring. Display names can be friendlier, but the underlying identifier should survive cosmetic changes.

## Repo-aware defaults

This is the right place to define:

* default branch
* default agent
* dev server command
* worktree mode
* source-control metadata
