# Notifications

> Surface task lifecycle updates through optional notifier plugins without living in the dashboard full-time.

Notification plugins are useful when you want visibility into agent progress without watching the dashboard constantly.

## Typical notification use cases

* session started
* session failed
* review required
* task merged or closed

## Operational guidance

Treat notifications as a visibility layer, not the source of truth. The real state should remain in the board, config, and runtime surfaces.
