# Qwen Code

> Qwen Code integration with normalized aliases and dedicated plugin routing.

Agent guide

Qwen Code gives teams another first-class plugin when they want regional model diversity or a repo-specific alternate runtime inside the same board and review loop.

Binary: `qwen-code`
Aliases: `qwen`, `qwen_code`
Best for fleet diversity

## Set up Qwen Code in Conductor

**1. Install Qwen Code**

```bash theme={null}
# install qwen-code in your environment
```

**2. Complete authentication or environment setup**

Confirm the CLI runs correctly in the same shell context that will launch Conductor.

**3. Launch Conductor**

```bash theme={null}
npx --yes --registry=https://registry.npmjs.org conductor-oss@latest
```

Update the workspace or project settings to make Qwen Code the default only where it belongs.

**4. Configure the repo default**

```yaml theme={null}
projects:
  my-app:
    agent: qwen-code
```

## Model selection in Conductor

Qwen Code decides which Qwen-compatible models are available through its own local setup and provider configuration.

* leave `agentConfig.model` unset when Qwen Code should follow its current default
* add a pinned override only where a repository needs a fixed model target
* document any repo-specific Qwen exceptions so regional or cost-policy drift stays visible

## Why teams pick Qwen Code

* expands fleet diversity
* keeps alias handling explicit
* useful for repos that should not share the same default agent as the rest of the stack
