# CC Router

> CC Router plugin support for teams that want multi-model routing through Claude Code Router inside Conductor.

Agent guide

CC Router lets teams route tasks through Claude Code Router, a multi-model proxy that selects the best model per prompt. Conductor treats it as a first-class agent plugin with alias resolution and per-repo defaults.

Binary: `claude-code-router`
Aliases: `ccr`, `cc-router`
Best for multi-model routing

## Set up CC Router in Conductor

**1. Install CC Router**

```bash theme={null}
npm install -g claude-code-router
```

**2. Configure provider keys**

CC Router needs access to at least one model provider. Follow the CC Router documentation to set up API keys and model preferences.

**3. Launch Conductor**

```bash theme={null}
npx --yes --registry=https://registry.npmjs.org conductor-oss@latest
```

Choose CC Router for repos where you want automatic model selection.

**4. Configure the repo default**

```yaml theme={null}
projects:
  my-app:
    agent: ccr
```

## Model selection in Conductor

CC Router manages its own model selection logic and provider routing.

* leave `agentConfig.model` unset to let CC Router pick the optimal model per prompt
* add an explicit override only if you need to pin a specific model for reproducibility
* prefer per-repo defaults over per-task model switching so review history stays attributable

## Why teams pick CC Router

* intelligent multi-model routing without manual switching
* keeps the same Conductor orchestration surface
* useful when different tasks benefit from different model strengths
